Summer Camp News:
We can’t wait to greet our Summer of 2026 campers for Woodcraft’s 102nd season! We have an incredible staff team from New York, Ohio, New Jersey, Tennessee, Arizona, Maryland, Colorado, Vermont, England, Australia, Mexico, France & Spain ready to greet our campers from Washington, Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont, Colorado, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Maryland, Maine, Florida, Nevada, Delaware, California, Illinois, British Columbia, Spain, and France! We’re so excited to work together to make Summer 2026 the best summer ever.
What a winter we’ve had at Woodcraft! We’ve been on skis since mid-November, and our local ski hill, McCauley Mountain, is still open for business. We had many cross-country skiers visit Woodcraft this season, and about 10” of snow remains in some areas of our woods. The lakes are still frozen, and yesterday’s high was 24F, BUT (!!!) little signs of spring are visible — the snowshoe hares are shedding their white winter fur for a mottled brown look, flocks of geese have been announcing their return with familiar honks, and the maple sap has started to run. Before you know it, the camp lakes will come alive with frog concerts, and the water will be fresh and running and ready for a whole new summer of campers.
Woodcraft’s new Rock ClimbingTower has been taking shape! Standing about 13 feet taller than its predecessor, it will feature three sides for climbing (easy, medium, difficult) with built-in inclines, chimneys, and overhangs. The fourth side is a vertical playpen, a high-ropes team-building obstacle course designed for collaborative climbing. With three times as many climbing holds as our previous rock tower, two auto-belay systems, and a deck to rappel from, we know this will be an addition that our campers will stay excited about and engaged with for many summers to come.
Please stay tuned for more news and photos — Following us on Instagram & Facebook is a fun way to stay in touch. Most importantly, we are sending our very best to Woodcrafters everywhere and we can't wait to see you back at camp!
